We've compiled a list of 31 cyber security influencers you can follow across social media to make sure you never miss out on the latest news and insights again.
I must also add, this isn't a ranked list (but if you do want to know my favourite - send me a message on LinkedIn and I'll let you know!)
1. Eugene Kaspersky
Eugene Kaspersky was born in Russia and funnily enough, he came into cyber security by accident...
When his computer got infected with the 'Cascade' virus in 1989, he used his knowledge and specialised skillset from his time as a cryptographer to remove the virus. Once he caught the 'bug' (no pun intended) for cyber security, it never left.
Since 1989, he has been successfully combating malware in all of its different forms. In fact, the University of Hamburg had said in 1994 that he and his team of researchers had made the best anti-virus program in the world.
Eugene is now the CEO of 'Kapersky' which he launched with his trust team of researchers in 1997, as you can imagine, it's been a great success with the Kapersky Lab operating in almost 200 countries worldwide.
2. Mikko Hypponen
You may know Mikko from his three incredible Ted Talks, our personal favourite was his talk on Fighting viruses, defending the net. Mikko is the Chief Research Officer at his Finnish company, F-Secure Corporation.
The F-Secure team have successfully navigated through some of the world's most deadly computer virus outbreaks in history. Mikko was also awarded for his efforts after receiving the Virus Bulletin Award for Best educator in the anti-malware industry 2010.
3. Katie Moussouris
As chief policy officer for vulnerability disclosure company, HackerOne, Katie was crucial in production of 'Hack the Pentagon', the government's first bug bounty program. Katie then followed this with 'Hack the Air force.'
Nowadays, as the CEO of start-up Luta Security, she continues to help governments and organisations with vulnerability disclosure programs and bug bounty programs.
4. Jane Frankland
Jane Frankland has over 21 years of experience in the cyber security field, she focuses on strategy and high performance in cybersecurity.
She's known to be the inspiration for many women across the world and has been named as the third most influential person in cybersecurity in the UK and as well as a top 20 global influencer.
5. Robert Lee
Robert is one of the most famous names on this list, he is described a trailblazer in the monitoring and incident reporting industry. He has been making his impact in the cyber security world ever since being an Air Force Cyber Warfare Operations Officer with the United States National Security Agency.
Robert was named in the 2016 Forbes Enterprise Tech's 30 under 30 and has since gone on to great things with Dragos Security where he is the co-founder and CEO. Here's a man who knows his stuff inside out!
6. Bill Brenner
Bill is a veteran in the cyber security space, he is a well respected journalist and has been building Information Security communities for decades.
He is currently the Director of Research at IANS and also runs a brilliant blog over on www.theocddiares.com which sheds light on Information Security and a wealth of other lifestyle topics I'm sure you'll appreciate!
7. Dave Shackleford
Dave is an author, SANS analyst and senior instructor but he spends of most of his time as helping businesses as founder of Voodoo Security. Voodoo are specialists in risk assessments and compliance analysis amongst a host of other services.
Dave is the definition of an expert, he's helped hundreds of businesses get secure and is a vExpert with a vast array of experience designing secure virtualised infrastructures.
8. Brian Krebs
It's hard to be in the Cyber Security space and not be aware of Brian Krebs, his blog 'Krebs on Security' is a staple in the industry and provides expert opinion on breaking news within the industry. Brian is also an investigative journalist and is popular for his coverage on cyber criminals and hackers who use their skills to turnover a profit.
Simply put, without Brian's content on your feed, you're only getting half the experience.
9. Kevin Mitnick
Kevin is one of the most interesting people in the whole space and arguably the most famous. He was arrested by the FBI for multiple computer crimes and after spending 5 years in prison, he decided to use his hacking skills to help people instead of taking from them.
Kevin is now a cyber security consultant, author and speaker as well as the CEO of his own consultancy firm.
10. Bruce Schneier
Bruce is a cyber security expert, cryptographer and a specialist in privacy security. The Economist labelled Bruce a "Security Guru" and I don't think there's a more fitting term for him! I'm sure you'll love his blog over at www.schneier.com
11. Troy Hunt
Troy is one of the best in the industry on educating individuals and businesses about cyber security. His 'Have I been Pwned?' data breach search website is used by thousands every single day!
12. Joseph Steinberg
Joseph Steinberg is an incredibly versatile cyber security expert, he helps businesses as a speaker, influencer, advisor and expert witness. He has been described a thought leader by many of his peers. You may have even heard of Joseph from his infamous book Cyber Security for Dummies.
13. Daniel Miessler
Daniel is a specialist cyber security consultant and writer with over 20 years of experience. He is a brilliant problem solver and has assisted many of the top establishments across the world over his illustrious career.
Nowadays, Daniel is spending most of his time with the OWASP foundation for the IoT Security Project where he is project leader.
14. Kevin Beaumont

15. Gaurav Banga
Gaurav has led the creation of many successful businesses based on innovative technologies but insists his path into entrepreneurship was accidental! Gaurav has been seeing opportunities in the cyber security space for decades and is also the CEO and founder of Balbix.
16. Jayson Street
Author of the brilliant "Dissecting the Hack: The V3rb0t3n Network", Jayson's illustrious career started 30 years ago and his unique and insightful discussion on social media is something you'll definitely enjoy. Jayson is currently the vice President of Information Security at SphereNY. where is he is providing training, speaking engagements and being a teachable moment for companies from all sectors and from around the globe.
17. Dave Lewis
Dave is an international keynote speaker, Harvard graduate, Forbes Raconteur and the global advisory CISO at Cisco. With over 39,000 followers on Twitter, a follow for Dave would introduce brilliant humour and insightful content onto your feed!
18. Dan Goodin
Dan is currently a security editor at Ars Technica and he has been in the space as a journalist for over 15 years. He has been exceptional at reporting the exploits of white-hat, grey-hat and black-hat hackers. 19. Larry Dignan
Larry sets the editorial strategy for three business technology sites: ZDNet; TechRepublic and Tech Pro Research. 20. Brian Honan
Brian is one of Ireland's proudest assets and exports, he is an information security consultant, author and Head of Ireland's reporting and information security service. If you aren't sure about the type of quality content you'd receive on your feed by following Brian, this is the same person who as awarded the SC Magazine Award for Information Security Person of the Year and was inducted into the Infosecurity Hall of Fame.
21. Anton Chuvakin
Anton is a recognised security expert in the field of SIEM, log management and PCI DSS compliance. 22. Eleanor Dallaway
